Liz has been involved in immigration for 10 years, first working to promote naturalization and DACA services as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Catholic Charities of Los Angeles. She shifted to the employment-based side in 2014, holding a paralegal position with a corporate immigration firm. In 2017 she achieved her dream of breaking into higher ed when she joined USC's Faculty/Staff Visa Services team. As a Visa Specialist, Liz advises university hiring units on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processing, helps assess and develop case strategies, and submits petitions to the USCIS. She thoroughly enjoys working with academics across the institution and helping demystify complex immigration processes for the USC community. She holds a B.A. in European Studies and Spanish from UCLA, and a M.Ed. from USC.
