James A. Elwood is a professor of English in the Department of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences at Meiji University in Tokyo. He holds an EdD from Temple University in TESOL and has taught in Japan for many years. His research interests include psychometrics (primarily structural equation modeling), technology in second language acquisition, and corpus linguistics, and his work has appeared in System, Computers and Education, JALT Journal, the Asian Journal of English Language Teaching, the International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Society, and others. He has also served in various contexts as a journal editor, reviewer, and dissertation advisor.
