Sarah Noppen has more than 15 years of experience in international education and is currently a PhD candidate in Public Affairs at Florida International University (FIU). Sarah recently resigned her position as Director, International Admissions at FIU in order to complete her dissertation titled, "Federal, State, and University Policy Impact on International Student Mobility" and earn her PhD in Public Affairs at FIU. She is expected to graduate in Spring 2023. Sarah previously managed a diverse office of 9 full-time professional staff members and 5 student workers. Her office managed all aspects of the prospective and recently admitted international undergraduate and graduate student experience. This included recruitment, evaluation, international transfer equivalency, and I-20 issuance. Sarah is an innovative and creative problem-solver. The depth of her knowledge in international education has allowed her to tailor best practices to new institutional contexts and design collaborative solutions to assist universities with meeting their international strategic goals. Sarah has previously worked as the Director of International Recruitment at the University of South Carolina and the Senior Manager for the J-1 intern/trainee visa program at the German American Chamber of Commerce. and holds a MBA with an international concentration from the University of South Carolina, and a BBA in Economics and BA in German from Ohio University.
