Caroline Benton is Vice President and Executive Director of Global Affairs at the University of Tsukuba and professor of organizational behavior at its Faculty of Business Sciences. She also acts as the Director of the university’s Bureau of Global Initiatives, and is an member of the Japan Association of National Universities’ International Exchange Committee’s working group and Ibaraki Prefecture’s Committee for the Development of New Plans for Promotion of Internationalization.
Prior to her academic career, Caroline Benton worked in business and as a marketing consultant for foreign-affiliated corporations in Japan. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Davis, her MBA degree from the University of Tsukuba, and her Ph.D. in Management Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Her current research interests lie in subjective well-being, global leadership, and cross-cultural understanding.
