Julie Wilbers is the Director of International Student and Scholar Services at Vanderbilt University. Julie has worked in the field of international education for over 15 years. She has extensive experience advising international student and scholars on non-immigrant visa categories, as well as filing employment-based permanent residency petitions. As an active member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps, Julie has presented workshops on F-1, J-1, and H-1B visa categories. She serves as the Past Chair of the NAFSA Healthcare Institutions Interest Group (HIIG). Recently, she led the workshop, "Understanding Prevailing Wage Process and Protocols in an Academic Setting" and presented on the “Introduction to Establishing Short-Term Medical Programs” and "Utilizing Networks to Avoid Burnout: Effective Immigration Advising in Challenging Times." Her professional experience includes teaching at the university level and preparing credential evaluations for foreign nationals. Her honors include selection as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany from 2004 to 2005 and serving on the board of the local Fulbright associations in both Denver and San Antonio. Julie holds an M.A. in Global and Sociocultural Studies from Florida International University and a B.A. in German and International Affairs from Xavier University.
