Adam S. Cohen is an attorney with Siskind Susser PC, practicing exclusively immigration and nationality law. Adam focuses his practice on the immigration of physicians, researchers, faculty, students, nurses, and other allied health professionals. He represents universities, academic medical centers, health care systems, hospitals, private practices, and individual students, scholars, and health care professionals.
Adam is an active member and former conference committee chair of the International Medical Graduate Taskforce (IMGT), the physician immigration bar organization. He is active in NAFSA: Association of International Educators as a member of the International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice Committee (ISS RP) as well as NAFSA’s Trainer Corps. Adam is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Media Advocacy Committee and, in that role, serves as an AILA national spokesperson.
Adam is the author of a new publication, The Academic Immigration Handbook. He has spoken multiple times on academic and healthcare immigration topics at AILA, IMGT, and NAFSA conferences, as well as for various universities and organizations. Adam has been selected multiple times as a Future Leader by Who's Who Legal: Corporate Immigration, as well as a Super Lawyers 2021 Mid-South Rising Star. He has also been quoted in The Times of India, Bloomberg Law, and other press and has written articles and op-eds for various publications, including The Hill and AILA’s Think Immigration blog. Adam is the content creator for Visalaw.ai’s (www.visalaw.ai) STEM OPT Assistant, a resource designed to help students and their employers assess STEM OPT eligibility, generate a complete Form I-983 Training Plan, and understand compliance obligations.
Adam received his law degree from the University of Florida. Prior to joining Siskind Susser, he served for several years as a Judicial Law Clerk and Attorney Advisor for the Executive Office for Immigration Review.
