Sabine Smith, Professor of German at Kennesaw State University, has over 30 years of teaching experience with a sustained research interest in cross-cultural comparisons. A native of Germany, she holds a Masters’ and a Ph.D. degree in American and German Studies from the universities of Mainz, Germany, and Davis, California, respectively. With approx. 50 publications and funded grants, she has been recognized for her expertise in contexts that range from local to international. In the intercultural competence trainings that she facilitates, she follows research-based, high-leverage teaching practices that take diverse world views and value orientations into account. She has experience in face-to-face, fully-online and virtual-synchronous settings for participants of diverse cultural, academic, and professional backgrounds.
