Cheryl Matherly is Vice President and Vice Provost for International Affairs at Lehigh University, where she has responsibility for the strategic leadership of the university's portfolio of international education programs. Dr. Matherly’ special area of interest is with the internationalization of science and engineering education, specifically as related to workforce development. Dr. Matherly received four NSF grants for projects related to the preparation of science and engineering graduates for the global workforce. She is the recipient of two Fulbright grants for International Education Administrators, in Japan and Germany. Dr. Matherly has written extensively on the relationship between employability and education abroad, including two book chapters that examined this topic in context of comparative national policies.
