Thomas Carter serves as the Director of International Education at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) where he oversees all education abroad, international student and scholar services, and international collaboration efforts. He is an active member of NAFSA - Association of International Educators and is the current NAFSA Region X Chair for 2022. Tom was the co-founder of the SUNY CIE Sustainability Committee and has served on the committee since it's inception. As a committed conservationist, Tom embodies the ESF mission by embracing sustainabile innovation in education abroad and more holistically, international education. From contributing to UGC's UN SDG Action and Awareness Week, to being a member of both NAFSA's Sustainability SIG and CANiE (Climate Action Network for International Educators), Tom hopes to inspire our field to actively tackle sustainability issues and concerns.
