The Forum on Education Abroad
Amelia Dietrich is the Director for Research and Publications at The Forum on Education Abroad and Managing Editor of Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad. Amelia’s work focuses on The Forum’s data collection and research efforts, including the Insurance Claims Data Project and the Critical Incident Database, as well as the development of a variety of print and online resources for education abroad professionals. She joined The Forum in 2015 through the Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows program. Prior to that, Amelia taught college Spanish and linguistics courses and worked with students conducting research abroad in Spain. She also worked as a researcher investigating bilingualism and second language acquisition in the Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese at Penn State University. Amelia holds a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science from Moravian University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Spanish and Language Science from Penn State. She studied abroad in Alberobello, Italy and Córdoba, Argentina. Amelia is a Certified Professional in Education Abroad.
