Dr. Virginia Guneyli is a leader for international, intercultural, experiential educational opportunities and programs. She has just under two decades of diverse experience in education. She's held roles as a faculty member abroad and in the United States, built and designed programs, built and led academic and international departments, and served as a subject matter expert and consultant for international organizations. She is currently the Director of International Student Services at St. Charles Community College (SCC) in Cottleville, Missouri. She holds a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University, a MA in English from University of Missouri Columbia (2002) and a Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies from University of Missouri Columbia (2002). She began her teaching career as an ESL teaching assistant in 2000, and went on to teach English at the University of Missouri St. Louis, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and the American School Foundation (ASF), an International Baccalaureate school in Mexico City, Mexico. After returning to St. Louis, she began a fifteen-year-long career at St. Charles Community College, where she has served as a tenured English faculty member who specialized in postcolonial literature, the Assistant Chair of English, the Chair of the Diversity Certificate of Specialization, the Program Manager for Study Abroad, and her current role as Director of International Student Services. She's utilized her transformational leadership style in various roles for the American International Recruitment Council, NAFSA, and Gateway International Group.
