Paidamoyo Chikate (Paida) is a PhD international student from Zimbabwe majoring in Evaluation and Data Analytics in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She holds a BA from the College of Saint Benedict and a masters’ degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota. Her background is in international development and evaluation and her PhD research focuses on evaluation ethics. As an internatonal student, she has been interested in how international students who intend to stay and contribute to the U.S culture, politics and economy can best position themselves to do so. She has worked with international organizations in partnership with small scale West African female farmers, youth education in Morocco and Bosnia and mental health access for Syrian women during the Syrian civil war. She has also worked as an evaluator for the United Nations on Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 6 in Africa.
