Originally from Alabama, Alexis Greene lives in San Diego, California. She received her B.S in Education in 2010 and M.S. in Education in 2012. She worked as a teacher for seven years in private schools in the U.S., Ghana, Macau, and Saudi Arabia. In May 2021, she received a M.A. in International Higher Education from Boston College. Her research interests center around the internationalization of higher education in American society and the economics of human capital theory. Alexis is an International Intake Advisor at the University of California San Diego.
As an intern, Alexis assisted the International Programs Office at Pepperdine University in developing an assessment framework for their residential study abroad programs. She played a significant role in evaluating existing intercultural learning instruments available to higher education institutions. After comparing qualitative and quantitative intercultural instruments, Alexis provided a recommendation of 3-5 instruments that could be used to assess articulated learning outcomes for the International Programs Office.
