Karla Guinigundo is Director of Global Partnerships at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. In this role, she is the main point of contact for international partnerships and agreements; writes and administers grants for international projects; and serves as advisor for the Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs and study abroad scholarships, including the Boren, Critical Language, Gilman and Freeman-Asia scholarships. Prior to joining the staff in the office of Global Initiatives at Miami in January 2012, she worked in the Center for International Studies at Ohio University for nearly ten years. Twenty years working in international education has given her a broad range of experience in the areas of academic program administration, grant writing and project management, international partnership development and management, study abroad administration, international recruiting, and fellowship advising. Karla graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in Philosophy in 1999 and went on to earn her master’s degree in International Studies (Southeast Asia focus) from Ohio University in 2002. She is currently a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at Miami University.
