She completed a Ph.D. in Latin American Philosophy and a Masters's in Contemporary Literature at the University of California in Los Angeles.
She obtained an M.B.A. at INCAE Business school. As the Director of the Center for International Programs & Sustainability Studies at Universidad Veritas, she developed experience in leadership, executive management, financial oversight, partnership development, strategic planning, and project management. She is committed to education initiatives with a socio-economic and environmental impact both at local and global levels. Alejandra is a Member of the Board of Directors of the College Consortium for International Studies and the founder and former president of the Association of Costa Rican Universities for International Education, known as Global Edu CR. Her short-term goal is to articulate disruptive innovation in higher education through cross-border collaborative projects, program design, and comprehensive internationalization. She is a certified education abroad professional from The Forum on Education Abroad.
