Daniel Ponce-Taylor is the Sustainability & Strategic Partnerships Director at Intercultural Outreach Initiative (IOI). Daniel graduated from the University of Southampton with a BSc in Oceanography and Marine Biology and later completed a MSc in Sustainable Management of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems at the University of Cadiz (Spain). For over 15 years Daniel has been deeply involved in the international education field, developing and managing overseas operations in more than 15 countries. As a concerned and committed conservationist, Daniel has worked to ensure that his involvement in international education initiatives has helped to tackle key local and global conservation and development issues and objectives. Daniel has been developing partnerships between Higher Education and other stakeholders for over 10 years and recently has been focusing on increasing the impact and contribution that these partnerships have on the Agenda 2030 and UN Sustainable Development Goals. As the co-chair for the NAFSA Sustainability SIG, Daniel hopes to engage NAFSA members in productive, critical, and innovative discussions to ensure the field of International Higher Education and Global Student mobility take into account sustainability issues as a critical and central part of their design and implementation.
