Stephen Sobierajski is the Director of Enrollment for the Culinary Institute of America and has worked in international education and recruiting for over a decade. He currently serves as the board chair for Study New York, a consortium of colleges and universities that promotes New York as a study destination for international students.
From 2010 to 2014, Stephen served as a student services facilitator for International Student Exchange, helping J-1 secondary students adjust to life and academics in the United States. In 2012 Stephen became a program manager for ISE, shifting to recruitment and working with overseas recruiting agencies to bring students to the U.S.
Stephen was recruited in 2014 by We Connect The Dots, Inc. an immersive technology education nonprofit for domestic and international students. As the program director for WCTD, Stephen was the principal recruiter, while also designing and delivering in-person and virtual programming for students on four continents, managing the organization's partnerships with major tech firms, and overseeing the student ambassador program.
In 2016, Stephen accepted a position as the Associate Director for International Admissions for the Culinary Institute of America. There, Stephen expanded the CIA's agency network, and developed the CIA's first international recruitment travel program, working with the CIA alumni network, current students, and faculty to increase international enrollment and diversify the student body at CIA's three US campuses.
Stephen holds a master's degree in English from SUNY New Paltz, where he taught for three years as a graduate instructor.
