Program & Communications Manager
Portland State University, Office Of Global Engagement & Innovation
Paul currently serves as a Program Manager for non-credit programs for the International Special Programs team and Marketing & Communications Coordinator the larger Center for International and English Learning at PSU. 4. Outside of his work managing all aspects of those programs (student recruiting and travel, curriculum development with instructors, as well as budgeting and management), he has also co-led the PSU Committee On International Recruitment & Retention for several years and served in a variety of other capacities in International Affairs such as helping lead the website migration process for the department. While his work touches on many areas he is passionate helping students and staff navigate the cultural, technical, and linguistic difficulties of short term programs and has enjoyed a deep dive into remote programming over the last few years.
Paul is originally from the Portland area, growing up in a small town west of the city. He attended the University of Oregon and obtained concurrent Bachelor’s of Arts in both Business Administration with a focus on Global Business and in Spanish. He obtained his Master’s degree in Postsecondary, Adult & Continuing Education from Portland State University. His past work experience at both universities includes being a Spanish tutor, Resident Assistant, Peer Advisor for the Lundqist College of Business (UO), an Academic Coach for both the Learning Center and Queer Resource Center at PSU and working in a variety of jobs for the PSU International Student Life Team before joining the International Special Programs team. In his free time he enjoys camping, hiking and other outdoor activities as well as exploring Portland’s vibrant music and restaurant scene!
