Barbara Lindeman has over 25 years of experience working in the field of international education. Lindeman presents and publishes on health, safety, crisis management, and minimizing risk and liability in education abroad programming and supporting students with physical and mental health concerns and documented disabilities in having successful and enriching education abroad experiences. Lindeman served as editor and co-author of "Best Practices in Addressing Mental Health Issues Affecting Education Abroad Participants" (NAFSA 2017). She co -chaired the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Academia Sector Committee (ASC) Mental Health Initiative and edited and co-authored the "OSAC ASC Mental Health Toolkit" (2020). An active member of Pulse: International Safety and Security Professionals in Higher Education, NAFSA, and the Forum on Education Abroad, she represented Pulse on the Forum on Education Abroad and NAFSA Joint Task Force to update the "Responsible Education Abroad: Best Practices for Health, Safety, and Security" (2021).
