Dr. Jennifer Wiley is passionate about supporting people through their process of self discovery. As a first generation college goer from Missouri and a former classroom teacher, Jennifer is mindful and respectful of the power of education to transform. She spends her time thinking about how organizations and institutions can honor that power as they support learners in their own environments.
To that end, Jennifer is currently producing knowledge that informs how organizations think about high impact and transformative learning program design. She is a co-founder and managing partner of CoreCollaborative International, a women and minority-owned consulting firm providing assessment of transformative learning, program evaluation and design, as well as intercultural awareness training. Jennifer is also a Research Fellow at James Madison University's Center for Global Engagement where she has led multi-institution research teams to explore how aspects of who learners are interact with aspects of the learning environment to impact learning outcomes. She is a certified administrator of several assessment instruments, including the IDI and BEVI, that help her support others as they understand themselves in global contexts. Dr. Wiley's past research dealt with how international education organizations know and understand the impact of experiences they design on their stakeholders--with a particular emphasis on measures/instruments organizations use to evaluate impact. Her current research involves the use of multimedia, peer videos to promote reflection and dialogue as a means to support the whole learner. Dr. Wiley is also part of a team of Virtual Exchange experts who support universities by offering train-the-trainer workshops to COIL, VE and mobility coordinators from around the globe.
