Dr. Nelson Brunsting serves as the Director of the Center for Research on Abroad and International Student Engagement (RAISE Center) at Wake Forest University where he leads Project RISE, a multi-institutional multi-wave longitudinal research study investigating international students' academic, social, and emotional wellbeing. Nelson earned his PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and his MA in Classics from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. His research focuses on the development and wellbeing of diverse populations in academic contexts.
