Owen is Deputy Head of #DMUglobal – an international experience programme for De Montfort University, Leicester (UK) students, which aims to enrich studies, broaden cultural horizons and to develop key skills valued by employers. He received his BA (Hons) from Liverpool John Moore’s University, and holds an MA in Leadership and Management in Education from Leeds Beckett University.
With almost 10 years experience of international education, upon graduating and spending a year living and working in New Jersey, USA, Owen returned to the UK in the role Director of Student Development at Harlaxton College (study abroad site for the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA). Whilst leading the Student Development Office, Harlaxton College was named number one Study Abroad Program in America by Best College Review.
In his current position, Owen manages an international experience programme that sends over 3000 students overseas per year on a combination of study, work and volunteering activities. #DMUglobal was given a Times Higher Award for Outstanding International Strategy in recognition of the innovative and accessible approach to student mobility that #DMUglobal has taken.
