Graduate Student
Eastern Illinois University
Heather Vaupel is a current second-year graduate student at Eastern Illinois University pursuing her M.A in Political Science. She works as a graduate assistant in the William V. Weber Program in Study Abroad and has fallen in love with working with study abroad. She is currently working on her capstone/thesis on Why Underprivileged Students Do Not Intend to Study Abroad. She wanted to disclose that the poster for the virtual conference is not the updated version of the paper. She will have the updated poster of her findings at the in-person NAFSA conference in Denver and appreciates any feedback from conference participants. She will graduate in May of 2022. Her plans after graduation are to work as study abroad advisor/director and become involved in making study abroad opportunities more inclusive.
