Ashlan’s interest in international education and education abroad stems from her experiences living overseas, starting when she studied abroad in Pamplona, Spain, in undergrad and continuing as she spent time teaching English overseas in Thailand and South Korea for a combined period of two years. In her current role as the Global Carolina Student Coordinator, Ashlan overseas the pre-arrival, arrival, and post-arrival processes for all the incoming exchange students for the University of South Carolina. She works with different campus partners to assist these students, including admissions, housing, the health center, and the graduate school, while also communicating with partner universities around the globe on a weekly basis. Ashlan received her M.A. in International Politics from The Citadel in 2018 and has been working with the exchange students at the University of South Carolina since May of 2021.
