Program Specialist

Ashley Holben is the Program Specialist for the non-profit organization Mobility International USA (MIUSA). For over 11 years, Ashley has supported the U.S. Department of State-sponsored project, the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE), to promote the participation, representation and leadership of people with disabilities in international exchange. In her role, she provides technical assistance to exchange and disability professionals, develops resources for inclusion, and facilitates digital and social media communications. Ashley has presented at several national and international conferences on topics related to people with disabilities accessing international exchange. She and her team hosted and coordinated the Joining Hands Virtual Symposium on disability and international exchange in July/August 2021. She just released a new edition of the A World Awaits You journal focusing on intersectionality and identity through the lens of people with disabilities in international exchange.
As an International Studies student at the University of Oregon, Ashley interned abroad in Dakar, Senegal with a public health-focused non-profit organization called GEEP and moonlit as an English instructor. Early on in her post-college career, Ashley participated in a Rotary-sponsored Group Study Exchange professional development program throughout Malaysia. Ashley currently lives in Portland, Oregon.
