COVID-19 innovated and changed how education is delivered—virtual, hybrid, and in-person classes—with the pandemic requiring immediate adjustments. This session reviews how meeting immediate needs feeds a long-term internationalization vision for institutions. The panel shares perspectives and current research on student motivations and concerns.

Learning Objectives:

Help institutions identify the top three actions their institution took to serve international students in the United States and those abroad during the 2020–2021 academic year.
Evaluate how well those actions supported the institution’s immediate needs to serve students and how well those actions contributed to the institution’s longer-term internationalization vision.
Help attendees understand how the innovations spawned by immediate needs can often align with an institution’s longer-term vision when the right team and the right factors are leading the internal discussions.
