Teaching International Students: From Faculty Learning Communities to Microcredential Programs

Presenters discuss how they engaged members of the teaching community at a large public university in learning about and supporting international students' academic efforts. The program started as a faculty learning community and evolved to become a microcredential program culminating in a digital badge titled “Teaching International Students.”
Learning Objectives:
Analyze faculty motivation to participate in an international student support and advocacy program.
Describe unique perspectives and affordances faculty members have as advocates for international students.
Explore the potential impact of the program on internationalization and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
