Data-Driven Support for International Students: Honest Reflections from the Pandemic

COVID-19 caused seismic shifts across the international education sector, underscoring the interconnectivity of the world. Attendees gain data-driven insights about how to position their internationalization strategy to improve international student outcomes, strengthen institutional reach, and broaden learning opportunities for all students.

Learning Objectives:

Understand pre- and post-COVID patterns of international student flows, the pandemic’s actual impact on international higher education, and five possible trajectories on the road to recovery over the next 10 years.
Access research from three countries about the pandemic’s impact on international student mobility, delivery models, equity, inclusion, and academic success.
Examine unique needs and vulnerabilities of international students and the subsequent link to the importance of equity, inclusion, and success.
Consider practical applications of data-driven insights to inform a 5–10 year internationalization strategy, paired with lessons learned from a practicing senior international officer and university president.
