Business Development & Technical Director - West Coast for MIH Management Services, Carl is a California-licensed landscape architect with over 20 years of experience designing and implementing a variety of habitat restoration projects throughout California, Washington, and Oregon, and has worked on the entitlement, design, and construction of over 20 mitigation and endangered species conservation banks throughout the same geography. He has extensive experience integrating ecological design principles with environmental regulatory requirements and site-specific constraints that has culminated in thousands of acres of restored habitat protected in perpetuity. He has experience restoring a range of marine and freshwater wetland habitats, riparian ecosystems, and endangered species habitat. He prepares concept drawings, construction drawings, construction cost estimates, construction bid packages, storm water pollution prevention plans, and has a wide range of knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and permit processes and how they apply to habitat restoration projects. He has prepared management and monitoring plans for mitigation and conservation banks as well as traditional ‘permittee-responsible’ mitigation and restoration projects. He has extensive construction oversight experience working directly with contractors on-the-ground implementing projects.
