Periann Russell is a geomorphologist for the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Mitigation Service (DMS). She specializes in interactions between hillslope and fluvial processes and response to anthropogenic activities. Ms. Russell currently leads the Science and Analysis Unit in DMS working to advance the science of stream and wetland mitigation.
