Gabrielle David is a research physical scientist specializing in fluvial geomorphology in the Remote Sensing/GIS Center of Expertise at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL). For the past six years, Dr. David has lead applied research projects on stream systems in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Branch through the Wetland Regulatory Assistance Program (WRAP). Dr. David is leading a national research project on identifying the ordinary high water mark (OHWM) and other projects on development, modification, and improvment of methods for assessing streams throughout the U.S. Prior to her time at CRREL, Dr. David worked as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College and in the Department of Earth and Oceanographic Sciences at Bowdoin College. She taught courses in river restoration, environmental geology, geomorphology, water resources, ecology, and environmental studies. Dr. David received her B.S. in Environmental Geology from The College of William and Mary and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Geosciences from Colorado State University. She then spent a year as a postdoc for the USDA Forest Service Stream Systems Technology Center, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Her research interests include fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, ecology, stream mitigation and management.
