Mr. Denisoff is owner of Craig Denisoff Consulting which provides habitat mitigation consulting services to non-profits, governments and private entities. Mr. Denisoff was a Founding partner and Vice President of Westervelt Ecological Services and Senior Vice President of Wildlands, Inc, two of the largest mitigation banking companies in the United States. Mr. Denisoff also served as President of the National Mitigation Banking Association and is a Founding Board Member of the National Environmental Banking Association.
Mr. Denisoff has worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California State Legislature and was Assistant Secretary for the California Resources Agency supervising the States’ national recognized wetland and coastal programs. In his role as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Denisoff served as a commissioner on the California Coastal Commission, State Coastal Conservancy, San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission, and was the State representative on the Coastal States Organization. Mr. Denisoff has consulted on and developed several key guidance documents for California and national mitigation policies.
Craig Denisoff has a Bachelor Degree of Arts from the University of California at San Diego in Economics, a Master’s of Public Administration with an emphasis in resources planning from San Francisco State University and has performed post graduate studies in aquatic ecology at the University of California at Davis. Mr. Denisoff has also published several articles on resources management related to fisheries management, coastal issues, regional wetlands planning, and mitigation and conservation banking. Mr. Denisoff has been quoted in several national press articles, written numerous articles, presented testimony at Congressional hearings, and has consulted to international governments on the establishment of habitat trading programs. Mr. Denisoff is a trainer and regular presenter at the National Mitigation Banking Conference and for the national wetland regulatory training for federal mitigation bank coordinators, and teaches courses on ecosystem services and markets at the University of California, Davis Extension.
