Jon Sloan is a Sr. Manager, Environmental Programs, for the Port of Seattle. Jon leads a team of planners and scientists that oversee permitting, compliance, and conservation initiatives for the Port's Maritime Division, ensuring that America's fourth largest seaport is the cleanest and greenest in the country. The Multi-Site Habitat Mitigation and Conservation Bank, aka the PORTfolio, includes habitat restoration initiatives in saltwater, estuarine and freshwater portions of the Green-Duwamish Watershed and Elliott Bay. The first project, Duwamish River People's Park and Shoreline Habitat Area, was recently completed and currently offers Natural Resource Damage credits to responsible parties in the Lower Duwamish, Harbor Island, and East Waterway Superfund Sites (note: Endangered Species Act and Clean Water Act credits coming soon!)
