Erin Okuno is a Professor of Legal Writing and Lecturer in Law at the University of Miami School of Law. A licensed attorney, she previously served as the Assistant Director of Stetson’s Institute for Biodiversity Law and Policy. Erin’s research and scholarship focus on environmental law and policy, particularly wetlands, biodiversity, endangered species, and international environmental law. Over the past few years, Erin and Professor Roy Gardner collaborated with the Environmental Law Institute on two multi-year research projects that were funded by EPA Wetland Program Development Grants and resulted in a comprehensive report and a series of guides on in-lieu fee program implementation. For several years, she and Roy Gardner have worked with a small team of attorneys to prepare amici curiae briefs on behalf of scientists and scientific organizations in cases regarding the Clean Water Act, 2020 Navigable Waters Protection Rule, and 2015 Clean Water Rule.
