Mitigation banks and in-lieu fee sites provide a unique opportunity to compensate for impacts regulated under the Clean Water Act while also meeting other conservation and planning goals of a region, such as salmon recovery, land conservation and water quality goals. Non-profits and government agencies are particularly suited to develop mitigation sites that provide multi-benefits. This presentation will highlight a successful county sponsored in-lieu fee mitigation program that has constructed multi-benefit project in the Pacific Northwest.
