The overarching goal of my research is to identify critical windows of opportunity and specific mechanistic targets to mitigate the developmental programming of adverse metabolic outcomes in O-MatOb. My lab uses preclinical models to understand mechanisms contributing to metabolic dysfunction in offspring born to mothers with diabetes and obesity. We also use human samples to identify biomarkers that predict onset of gestational diabetes.
