Insects are a fantastic ally in teaching, and this is not restricted to courses in entomology. As a teaching-stream faculty, I have taught in a wide range of courses including animal behaviour, evolution, physiology, and biostatistics to both majors and non-majors. My love of insects has been central in leveraging some of my key strategies in the classroom which aim to: Incite, Invite, Immerse and Inspire. I will share a few examples of each that tend to get 'votes of approval’ from students, that I hope will give you some ideas for your own classes/courses.
