Master Gardeners are the go to people in their respective communities as a resource providing and disseminating Integrated Pest Management (IPM) information in their communities – an impact that can’t be equaled. In being that, training is crucial and necessitates the translation of research, systematics and even legal requirements to practical, applicable lessons to be deployed by Master Gardener clinics to the public. This and other types of community outreach require a different style of instruction and the ability to deftly teach through negative assumptions and complex concepts.
