Elmids, colloquially known as riffle beetles, are a family of aquatic beetles in the superfamily Byrrhoidea. After examining specimens stored in the Montana Entomology Collection at Montana State University, we discovered an undescribed genus of Elmidae collected from Idaho. The diagnostic characters which separate this genus from others are presented.
