State Specialized Extension Agent - Apiary University of Florida Gainesville, Florida
The University of Florida (UF), Institute of Food and Agricultural Resources (IFAS), Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory (HBREL) strives to offer valuable education and training to beekeepers and beekeeping educators. Now, more than ever, an opportunity exists for Extension to be innovative with their programs to disseminate science. This session will provide an overview of the ways UF/IFAS HBREL have incorporated technology into their programs and ideas for how Extension personnel can implement these ideas into their own programs. Some examples include podcasting logistics, virtual workshops, fields trips, and facility tours, and the creation of a statewide honey bee team.
