We anticipate that the inaugural Austronesian Entomologists Group (AEG) will create a space for underrepresented entomologists to engage, collaborate, and form meaningful professional relationships. This will also be a space to acknowledge the work of Austronesian immigrant researchers in North America and around the world. We aim to use the space to develop connections with regional entomology organizations like the Hawaiian Entomological Society and Philippine Entomologist. Finally, we envision the AEG to be a place for ALL entomologists to cultivate an appreciation for the inherently rich insect diversity of Austronesia and be a space to exchange research ideas and identify scientific challenges and opportunities.
