The symposium will cover diapause metabolism from cellular biochemistry to physiology and behavior. Recent insights derived from different insect models by various approaches will be emphasized. Effects of ecological parameters on diapause initiation and termination, neural and hormonal control together with epigenetic background of diapause maintenance will also be highlighted.
