Connecting conservation strategies to landscape management practices is a critical step in knowing which actions to take to protect insects around home, school, and farm landscapes. Insect conservation is a broad topic that involves many interconnected biological, ecological, and human dimensions concepts that even entomologists struggle to understand. We discuss a novel approach to using art, landscape, and engineering design to create learning activities that teach elementary students the basics of insect conservation.
