Associate Professor of Biology Burman University Lacombe, Alberta, Canada
Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) historically have been primarily concerned with selling credits, that is, teaching as oposed to any other activities such as research. However, many PUIs are recognizing that incorporating some aspects of research is beneficial to the students as well as the professors. While doing this is challeging for professors, involving undergraduate students in research projects can be very rewarding. Here I report on the case of 4 students who have been involved with varying aspects of my research and how it has impacted their lives and enhanced my teaching.
