The spinosyns have a long track record as effective insecticides and global demand for QalcovaTM (spinosad) and JemvelvaTM (spinetoram) continues to grow. Corteva has strived to meet the increasing demand for these molecules through adding production volume and through continual improvement of the manufacturing process, especially the fermentation where the microbial strain Saccharopolyspora spinosa produces the active ingredients. Improving fermentation yields and productivity is based on the twin thrusts of strain and recipe optimization. The presentation will focus on Corteva's R&D efforts to fulfill demand for spinosyns for the past quarter centruty and into the future.
