Working lands such as farms have a substantial footprint in North America and can be part of the solution to biodiversity loss. In addition to programs that engage urbanites, utility companies, and conservation area managers, Pollinator Partnership and Pollinator Partnership Canada are empowering growers to make a difference for pollinators and biodiversity by creating guides that focus on protecting pollinators from pesticides in different crops. The guides speak directly to farmers and to beekeepers that service the crops with actionable, economical practices that are achievable. The guides outline crop-specific requirements for pollination and common pest challenges, detailing four main ways to address pollinator health, enhance farm production, and support biodiversity. In this talk, we will focus on the Protecting Pollinators from Pesticides guide series with a brief overview of other programs demonstrating how Pollinator Partnership is taking an all-hands-on-deck approach to conservation.
