Yi (Lisa) Hwa, DNP, C-NP, received her doctorate education from the University of Minnesota. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine and holds
an Associate Appointment at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She has a passion in professional education. She is the program director of
the Mayo Clinic NP/PA Hematology / Oncology Fellowship. She is a
frequently invited speaker by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network
(NCCN) to present at the Nursing Forum of multiple annal congresses. She
has been invited to present at several international conferences. She is an
alumni of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Medical Educators
Institute (MEI) as the first non-physician clinician and educator. She joined
in 2020 on the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) eLearning
Question Writing Workgroup. She has presented multiple research findings
at national and international conventions including ASH annual convention
and International Symposium on Amyloidosis (ISA). Through ASH she has
been selected twice, among thousands of worldwide scholars, by the
International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) to film web-based interview to
present her research data. She has authored and co-authored over 100
peer-reviewed articles including many first-authorship publications in the top
hematology-focused journals including Blood, Leukemia, American Journal of
Hematology, European Journal of Hematology and Journal of Oncology
Practice. She has several publications on the Journal of the Advanced
Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO) and has been actively engaged in the
Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) to
serve on the Board of Directors, Communications Committee, Award &
Recognition Committee, Conference Planning Committee and Social Media
Taskforce. She also currently serves on the NCCN Educational Program
Advisory Committee and ASCO Advisory Membership Committee.
