Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner
Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine
My name is Kathryn Slane, MSN, AGPCNP-BC, AOCNP, and I am a medical oncology nurse practitioner with Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine. I have been a nurse practitioner in medical oncology at Siteman since May 2016 and have worked with many different cancer types. I primarily specialize in head & neck cancers with my collaborating physician, Dr. Peter Oppelt. I have clinic on the main campus, as well as two of our satellite locations. I have been interested in biomarkers and their roles in precision oncology for about 4 years now, and have been lucky enough to collaborate with many other brilliant oncology professionals within the Oncology Nursing Society on the development, and now maintenance, of the ONS biomarker database. I am a first time attendee of JADPRO.
I live in a suburb of St. Louis, MO and have been married for almost 7 years to my husband, Mike. We share two beautiful children together: Penelope (3) and Maximus (1). We also have a long-haired dachshund named Gambit (10). I admittedly do not have much free time, but when I get a break here and there I enjoy traveling with my family, binge watching anything HBO, and reading Stephen King books.
