You cannot protect what you do not know you have. The first rule of cybersecurity is knowing what you have so that you can protect it. How can this be done when you can’t visit a site to conduct the inventory? This presentation conveys an innovative remote inventory approach piloted for U.S. Army Reserve sites’ facility-related control systems. We will cover how we used low-cost hardware, video conferencing and augmented reality headsets to complete asset inventories during the pandemic. We will share how organizations can leverage our approach and various off the shelf tools, including AR, when planning remote asset inventories to save time, money and reduce travel.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the value of an asset inventory as well as how to carry out a successful one remotely.
Identify tools that can be leveraged for a remote asset inventory.
Convey to leadership the value of remote asset inventories and the return on investment for the organization.
