Samantha Roe, IOM, is the Chief Executive Officer of International Erosion Control Association (IECA). Roe joined the IECA Region One as the Executive Director in November 2018 and was named the CEO in February 2021 during the reunification of the regions. Roe brings a variety of chapter management, membership development and international experience to the association from her previous positions.
Most recently Roe enhanced member onboarding and retention; restructured committees to tackle initiatives that affect the mining industry; and increased international membership with the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME). Roe has restructured, redesigned and implemented strategic programs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. and oversaw chapter relations and service to local members of the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) 93 chapters.
With the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Roe completed the premiere Institute for Organization Management (IOM) training program designed to prepare designees to manage nonprofit organizations. She represented U.S. business interests on a global scale with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Chairman at the G8 Tokyo Business Summit, G5 Emergency Business Summit in Paris and 2008 Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit conference in Peru. Roe’s education also focused on international communication, business administration and U.S. Foreign Policy at Western Michigan University and American University. She has studied abroad in Japan, Canada, Ireland and France.
